P5 Shared Education - hot wires
Our P5 children travelled by coach today, to Holy Family Primary School, to meet up with their Shared Ed Buddies for another day of joint curricular activities.
Today's session began with a PDMU activity where the children had to recognise similarities and differences in themselves and the other children in their mixed groups.
After we got out the Hot Wires kits and took part in a bit of electronic investigating. The children worked with their group to construct a range of electronic circuits to light bulbs, power a motor and fan and produce messages in Morse Code. All the pupils were hands on, fully engaged and enjoyed their morning out of the classroom.
We are already looking forward to our next get together, which is on the 27th February and will involve us all travelling to the St Patrick Centre, Downpatrick for a day of music linked to our topic 'Ancient Egypt'.
