Muesum on the Move in P6K
23rd Nov 2022
The Ulster Museum sent in a large mysterious silver box into our classroom this week. Today we linked up live with Mrs Baird and we explored the items in the box. They were related to the Vikings from over one thousand years ago. We examined and held - an amulet, a necklace, wool and linen with a bone needle, a bone comb, a piece of silver, three coins, oak gall (from which monks made their ink to write with), quills, gold leaf, chain mail and two costumes. Mrs Baird told us many interesting facts about the items.
We followed up my drawing, measuring and taking rubbings of some of the items.
