P1 Visit to the Fire Station
7th Mar 2018
We got to look at the Fire Engine and found out where it gets water from.
The Fire Fighters told us what the equipment was for.
We learned how to get the water for the Fire engine from under the ground.
We got to try on the Fire Fighters uniform and learned how it keeps Fire Fighters safe.
The breathing apparatus is very heavy and gives up to 40 minutes air.
We all got inside a Fire Engine and sat where the Fire Fighters sit.
These are special cutters that can cut metal. They are very heavy.
Fire Fighters have a quick way downstairs.
Talking about what we saw.
The Fire Fighters are being briefed.
They put the tall ladder up and carried the hose over their shoulder.
They made us a beautiful rainbow.
This Fire Fighter showed us how to roll up the hose properly.
They even made us some snow..
Thank you all at Glengormley Fire Station, we had a fantastic time and learned so much.
